Here are the steps to block span in Outlook Express 6:
(a) Launch Outlook Express 6.
(b) Click "Tools" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and choose "Message Rules" and then choose "Mail."
(c) Click the "Mail Rules" tab. Hit the "New" button.
(d) Put a check mark next to "Where the message body contains specific words" in the Conditions section. Place a check mark next to "Delete it" in the "Actions" section.
(e) Click the "contains specific words" link in the "Rule Description" field.
(f) Click "Add" beneath the "Type specific words or phrase." Type a word that you have noticed in Spam messages. Click "Add" and then type another word. Also type words that typically come up in spam messages such as "hair," "date," "mortgage" and "money." Click the "OK" button when you are finished.
(g) Enter a name for the spam rule in the bottom section and click the "OK" button. Click the "OK" button again.
(h) Continue making new rules by repeating steps 2 to 7. Use different conditions for each rule by putting a check mark next to it. Conditions include "Where the Subject line contains specific words" and "Where the To line contains people."
