I am assuming that you want to customize the desktop for various user accounts on your computer. Correct me if my assumption is wrong.
On a Windows XP computer, the ‘Desktop’ folder (the content of which determines what you see on the desktop) is located in C:\Documents and Settings\
If you want all user accounts to display the same set of icons on the desktop, copy the contents of the
‘Desktop’ folder for the ‘standard’ user account and paste them in the corresponding ‘Desktop’ folder for the other user accounts.
