In order to uninstall a program from my Windows Vista SP1 machine, I accessed the control panel. But I could not see any items there. Please help me to locate the missing icons so that I can uninstall that unwanted program.

Please try the following:

(a) Check for the programs own uninstaller in the programs list/ programs folder.
(b) In such cases, I had used 3rd party uninstallers like Revo Uninstaller.
(c) If none of the program is appearing, Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file.
(d) Update the antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Nada, i really figured with how well this thing ran (aside from gaming) that i would be able to salvage the bios. but, i guess i should be happy i didnt brick the damned thing. i am going to combine this unit and my slave unit and gift it to the kids. start looking to Newegg for the creation of the new monster. will be a slow build in this economy. anyhow, thank you for your help and keep up the good work. blah

I have a laptop that i received from the family of a friend who recently passed away. It is fairly new and has password protection on it and I dont know the password. Also, there is no option to boot from the dvd drive in the bios, so I cant just wipe the hd with a new copy of windows. I can set it to boot from usb. any ideas on how I can get into this machine or, barring that, load new software onto it?

I have several times executed the Disk Cleanup utility on Windows XP to remove unnecessary cache. But 32kb is always displayed under Web Client/Publisher Temporary files. How to remove that used space on my hard drive?
