You have not mentioned the model number of the adapter. Please follow these steps:

(a) Unplug the adapter from the system.
(b) Install the software that came with the adapter.
(c) Plug the adapter and wait for the system to recognize the adapter.
(d) Once the console is open, check the list of network present.
(e) Click on your network and provide and passphrase, check the auto connect.
(f) Save the settings.
