When I try to connect my computer to Internet, an error is displayed stating that Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. I have a laptop with Windows 7. Please help me to get rid of this error.

It is possible that the drivers for the NIC is not installed properly. Please try these:

• Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
• Double-click Network Adapters, right-click your adapter, and then click Properties.
• Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver.
Choose a method. Its better to use the system drivers disk that came with the system to install the NIC. If you don’t have one, go to another system which has internet connection, visit the system manufacturer website and download the latest driver, use a portable drive to bring it to your system and then install it.

I have dial up connection, it really slow and refresh itself after every 4 hours. My problem is I can’t download any big file due to this refresh problem. I wonder if someone has a direction I can try for re-enabling a wifi connection that appears to have been disabled by running System Mechanic Professional. My son ran the program on his Windows 7 laptop. After reading the box it has been noted that this OS is not included in the covered. Anyway he seems to have regained use of his computer with the exception of now he can’t see any networks on his wifi connection. I’m trying to trouble shoot this over the phone but haven’t had much luck. Last he rolled back the changes in history that applied to the internet but this doesn’t seem to have helped.
